  Served as a Farrier Sergeant in the 3rd NSW Mounted Rifles during the Boer War, from 15 April 1901 to 16 March 1902. Departed Sydney, Australia on 4 August 1902 aboard the steamer Souowa. Arrived in San Francisco, California, USA on 25 August 1902. In the 1910 US Census is listed as Head of household with 5 boarders. On 2 May 1910 was employed as a Foreman at a stock farm and was residing at Burlingame Avenue, Burlingame, San Francisco, USA. Albert traveled frequently between USA & England during the early 1900's.
